Saurashtra University
Saurashtra University was set up in 1967 and since then it has come a long way in imparting knowledge.

Saurashtra University was established with the objective to develop manpower by providing education to the underdeveloped Saurashtra region. The University is a teaching and affiliating institution. It has two hundred and seven affiliated colleges and two recognized institutions under its wing. The University has received four-star status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The territorial jurisdiction of the University extends to five districts of the Saurasthra region. The colleges affiliated to the University offer various courses in Medical, law, Basic Science, Commerce, Management, Humanities, Arts, Music, Religion and Indian Culture. The postgraduate departments are located on the University campus. These departments of the University are Department of Chemistry, Department of Commerce, Department of Computer Science, Department of Economics, Department of Education, Department of Electronics, Department of Gujarati, Department of Hindi, Department of History, Department of Human Rights, Department of Law, Department of Library & Information Science, Department of Mathematics, Department of Philosophy, Department Saurashtra Universityof Physics, Department of Psychology, Department of Sanskrit, Department of Social Work, Department of Sociology, Department of Statistics, Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies, Department of Home Science, Department of Physical Education and Department of Pharmaceutical Science.

This large University of Gujarat is spread over an area of 410 acres which consists well equipped library, hostels, common senate hall, canteen, a medical check up center, staff quarters and an employment information and guidance bureau.
