Sardar Patel University located in Vallabh Vidyanagar in the Anand district of Gujarat was named after the great Indian freedom fighter Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. He founded the University in 1955. It is at a distance of 5 kilometers from Anand, with the nearest airport at Vadodara and Anand Junction Railway Station.

The University Museum located in the campus has a collection of rich artifacts relating to the culture and heritage of the region. The university has been given a four star status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
