National Academy of Legal Studies and Research University of Law ,located at Hyderabad is shortly known as NALSAR.It was established in the year 1998 by an act of Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly.It is a residential University.The campus of the University occupies 50 acres of and land Academic Block, residential block conference halls, library, the internet center, a court hall,a stadium and several research centres.

The University conducts five courses including B.A., LL.B (Hons.), LL.M, Post Graduate Diploma Courses, and Ph.D.To promote research work in Legal Studies NALSAR has three rsearch centers including Dr. N.C. Banerjee Centre for Intellectual Property Law Studies, M.K. Nambiyar SAARC Law Research Centre and Dr. S.P. Chatterjee Centre for Environmental Law Studies.Several research works of this University received international acclaim.
