Kondumal is an example of a census town, which is located in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state.

Quite a handful of towns and cities have developed in the states of Indian subcontinent. The state of Maharashtra is not an exception. Amongst several towns one can demarcate Kondumal as a significant place. Kondumal is a census town. It is located in the district of Chandrapur of the state of Maharashtra.

In order to identify the salient features of a town or place it becomes imperative for a person first to gather more and more information about its demographical situation. For that reason, several demographers have been appointed for conducting surveys and research works in Kondumal. On the basis of their findings they have prepared extensive reports. The most prominent is the Census report that has been issued out in the year 2001. Data like literacy rate , population status about Kondumal also can be deciphered from this report. According to this report , Kondumal showed a population count of 11,722. Just like many other places in India , males of Kondumal too are more than females. In other words, male populace constitutes 52 % , while the population of females constitutes 48 %. In Kondumal town , 13 % of the population is below six years of age.

Whether a town has shown development or not can be determined only by analyzing its literacy condition. In other words, literacy is an indicator for gauging the growth and prosperity of a town. Since the average literacy rate of Kondumal is 84 %, which is even higher than that of India, it naturally confirms the fact that the town is more or less developed. 59.5%. Not only that, both male and female literacy rate are quite high. In other words, male literacy rate constitutes 86 %, and the rate of female literacy is 82 %.
