Harpanahalli is a `panchayat town` that is located in the Davanagere district of the Indian state of Karnataka.

Being a vast country, it is only natural that numerous towns, places as well as rural areas have been found in every corner of the whole of the Indian territory. The beautiful state of Karnataka is not an exception also. In fact there are many who have singled out the name of the Harpanahalli. Harpanahalli is a `panchayat town`, which is located in the Davanagere district of the same state.

Regarding the strategic location of the Harpanahalli, certain information has also been revealed. It is situated at 14.8ø N 75.98ø E. Moreover, it has an average height of 633 metres or 2076 feet.

No discussion about any place of town would be complete without knowing the demography of the particular place . As far as the Harpanahalli is concerned , the census report of the year 2001 also have highlighted many things viz. literacy rate , population etc. According to the report, Harpanahalli had got a population of 41,889. From it , one can even decipher the percentage rate of male , females and also children individually. Males comprise of 52 percent of the total population and females constitutes of 48 percent. In Harpanahalli town , 14 percent of the population is below six years of the age.

From the census report, literacy rate too can be known. What is interesting to know that Harpanahalli has an average literacy rate which is lower than that of the entire nation. 55% and 59.5 percent are the average literacy rates of Harpanahalli and India respectively.
