This small stretch of sandy beach is easily accessible as it lies in between Bogmalo beach on the north and the Majorda Beach and the Colva Beach on the south. The beach also makes an excellent day trip from the other beaches of Goa. A long walk on the beach is a pleasant experience. Alternatively, there is motorbike accessibility between Colva Beach and Velsao Beach.

This is one of the famous Christian Festival celebrated among the Portuguese. Though there are not too many options in the village to eat out, this stretch of Velsao beach has some of the best local and international cuisine, mirroring the mixture of Indian and Portuguese traditions.

Velsao beach in South Goa District is well connected to many places. In fact it is just 25 kilometres away from Panjim or Panaji- the capital city of Goa. There are regular bus services also in terms of road transport from Margao, Colva Village and Vasco-da-Gama. In case of rail convey, from the Majorda and the Verna stations are easily accessible to Velsao Beach. One can even ride a cycle from Vasco to Velsao beach.
