Hibiscus Moschatus named as Latakasturi in Bengali is a plant which has been used as medicine since ages. The scented seeds of this plant are much used in perfuming medicinal oils. They also enter into the composition of some compound prescriptions, being regarded as cooling, tonic and carminative. The plant is used for the treatment of diseases like asthma, bronchitis, burning sensation and nausea. It is also quite useful in case of dyspepsia, flatulence, colic and diarrhoea. In addition to that it is also beneficial for treating calculi, vomiting and nervous system disorders.
