Tirumalai Srinivasan

Tirumalai Srinivasan`s prime attraction was his fabulous batting style. He primarily played for Tamil Nadu.

The right-hand batsman and leg-break bowler, Tirumalai Srinivasan was born on October 26, 1950. He has participated in a single Test and 2 One-Day Internationals for India, from 1980 to 1981.

This batting expert originated from Tamil Nadu. He worked as a player for Tamil Nadu, for 10 long years.

Tirumalai Srinivasan Rise to Fame
He shot to prominence, with a fascinating 112, for South Zone in Duleep Trophy, held at Bangalore, in 1977-78. His opponent then was the North Zone. He retained the same vigour and performance level.

In 1980-81, he hit a marvellous 129 for South Zone against West Zone in the significant final of the Deodhar Trophy that took place in Chennai. His feat strengthened his position in the team, travelling out for Australia and New Zealand. He struck a phenomenal in the Irani Trophy game at Delhi.

During his only expedition, Srinivasan`s deeds were fine enough in the sphere of first class games. Still, he did not get selected in the active core eleven as an opener or a middle order batting support.Though late, yet he received the scope to play his single most Test against New Zealand at Auckland.

At times an efficient leg spinner, Srinivasan played for Woodhouse in the Yorkshire League over a few years. He also joined Grade cricket in New South Wales. Tirumalai Echambadi Srinivasan, in the fullest display of his batting prowess, was indeed magnificent. This Tamil Nadu talent, used to played in classy cricketing style.
