Someshwar Beach is a beach located in Ullal at the confluence of the Netravati River and the Arabian Sea. The beach is located near Mangalore in Karnataka and it is a pristine beach famous for its view of sunsets. The presence of hidden rocks and currents along this stretch of the coast make this beach unsuitable for swimming.
Someshwar Beach is also known for large rocks on the beach called "Rudra Shile" or "Rudra Paadhe". The name "Someshwar Beach" is derived because of Lord Somanatha Temple standing since several centuries on the sea shore. This temple was built during the 10th century, by the Alupa dynasty and is a popular pilgrimage site amongst Hindus.
