The SJM Dental College (SJMDC) is counted among the top medical institutions in the state of Karnataka and the college is located in the district of Chitradurga. The college was established in the year 1986 with a view to offer dental education to the students and also to provide treatment to the people of Karnataka. The college has become successful to produce many bright students, who have passed competitive examinations both in India and abroad, since its inception. The college is also striving hard to establish it as one of the premiere institutions in the country.

SJM Dental College, Chitradurga, Karnataka The SJM Dental College (SJMDC), Chitradurga is being run and managed by the SJM Vidyapeetha. The college has taken the task of fulfilling the deficiency of adequate scope for dental education in Karnataka. It is affiliated to the Kuvempu University and has been approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI). The college is offering a large number of courses in different disciplines of dental science at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The main course offered by the SJMDC, Chitradurga is the undergraduate course of Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS).

The SJM Dental College (SJMDC), Chitradurga offers the BDS Course in the disciplines like Human Anatomy - including Embryology and Histology, Human Physiology and Bio-Chemistry, Dental Materials, General Pathology and Micro-Biology, Human Oral Anatomy-including Embryology and Histology, General & Dental Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Pre-Clinical Prosthetic Dentistry (Practical only), Pre-Clinical Operative Dentistry (Practical Only), General Medicine, General Surgery, Oral Pathology & Microbiology, Preventive & Community Dentistry, Oral medicine, Oral Diagnosis & Radiology, Prosthetics and Crown & Bridge, Conservative Dentistry-including Endodontics, Pedodontics, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics and Periodontics. The postgraduate courses are offered in the disciplines like Oral Medicine, and Operative Dentistry.

The students, who have already achieved the BDS degree, can continue pursuing their higher studies at the Post Graduate Centre, adjacent to the SJM Dental College (SJMDC), Chitradurga. The students are required to have the minimum qualification as stipulated by the government and Dental Council of India (DCI), in order to get admitted in the Post Graduate courses. Apart from offering the above mentioned courses, the college also provides separate hostel facilities for the male and female students.
