Sattu Dalia, Ancient Recipe of BiharSattu Dalia is a popular and special healthy and nutritious drink made from a variety of flours which includes corn, gram, millet, wheat, barley, soyabean, oat, dry fruits, milk and sugar making it a good source of natural fiber, proteins and carbohydrates. It gives energy and is easy to digest. Sattu Dalia is made in many ways. It is also said to be the most running and traditional drink of Bhojpuries in summers.

Dishes made from sattu are highly nutritious and suitable for to be eaten by all age groups. Sattu is also considered nutritious for growing children. Sattu Dalia is delicious to taste, easy to make and a highly proteinous multipurpose balanced dish. Sattu Dalia is widely available and used in northern India.

Health Benefits of Sattu Dalia
Sattu Dalia is a rich source of proteins, fiber and vitamins, easily digestible and fat free. Sattu is good for diabetic people, is a natural coolant and keep the body temperature cool, a natural source of energy and helps in weight management.

Ingredients for Sattu Dalia:

•Wheat - 250 gms
•Oat - 250 gms
•Barley - 250 gms
•Gram - 250 gms
•Corn - 250 gms
•Millet - 250 gms
•Soyabean - 100 gms
•Sugar - 100 gms
•Milk/Cold Water - 100ml
•Dry Fruits - To Taste

Method:
1. Clean and dry all the grains in mild sunlight.
2. After drying, roast all grains separately and grind them to fine powder or flour.
3. The Sattu is ready. Preserve this flour in an air tight jar.
4. Mix 2 table spoons of Sattu in cold milk or water and make a thick, batter like, liquid.
5. Add sugar or honey according to taste.
6. For garnishing use nuts like walnut, cashew, almond etc.
7. It"s ready to serve the cold Sattu Dalia in a glass.

Notes for Sattu Dalia:
One can use small pieces of fruits like banana, apple, mango etc.
