Early Life of Sathish Sivalingam
Sathish Sivalingam was born in 23 June 1992 at Vellore, Tamil Nadu to Sivalingam and Deivanai. His father is an ex-serviceman who won gold medals in weightlifting at national level and now works as a security guard at VIT University, Vellore. He was trained in his early years by his father Sivalingam. Sathish did his schooling in Government Higher Secondary School, Sathuvachari. He works as a clerk in Southern Railways, Chennai.

Career of Sathish Sivalingam
Sathish Sivalingam won gold medal in 77 kilograms category in the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. He lifted 144 kilograms in snatch games record and 173 kilograms in clean and jerk. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, he won the gold medal in the men`s 77 kilograms, with 149 kilograms snatch, and 179 kilograms clean and jerk lifts, totalling 328 kilograms. He set a new record by lifting 149 kilograms in the snatch category. He also qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics in the Men`s 77 kilograms category, where he finished 11th in the field of 14 lifters.
