The South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1967-68 was started with the match between the teams of Madras and Kerala and the match was held at Madras from 26-27 August, 1967. There was a clash between the teams of Mysore and Kerala in the fourth of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1967-68 and the match was held at Bangalore from 16-18 September, 1967. The Mysore team played well in the match and earned 8 valuable points from it by winning with a margin of an innings and 111 runs. The next match of the South Zone involved the teams of Hyderabad and Andhra. The match was held at Hyderabad from 16-18 September, 1967 and it saw the Hyderabad team winning by an innings and 142 runs and also earning 8 points from it. The Hyderabad team appeared in the next match of the South Zone also and this time, it played against the Mysore team at Hyderabad from 23-25 September, 1967. The seventh of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1967-68 involved the two most powerful teams of the zone, Madras and Mysore and the two teams played the match at Bangalore from 14-16 October, 1967. The Madras team showed some extraordinary performances in the match and clinched a victory by a huge margin of 7 wickets to earn 8 valuable points from it. The Mysore team then played against the Andhra team at Vijayawada from 11-13 November, 1967 and the drawn match saw the Mysore team earning 5 points and Andhra earning 3 points from it. The Andhra and Madras teams met with each other in the next match of the South Zone and the match was held at Guntur from 18-20 November, 1967. The Madras team continued its good form in this match also and got a victory of an innings and 96 runs for earning 8 points from the match. The Andhra team appeared in the last of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1967-68 also and this time, it played against the Kerala team at Trivandrum from 25-27 November, 1967. The winner of the match was the Andhra team with a margin of 9 wickets and the teams also earned 8 valuable points from it.
