The Central Zone of the Ranji Trophy, 1962-63 saw the participation from a number of 4 teams like the Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha and Rajasthan. The third of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1962-63 saw a clash between the teams of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and the match was held at Moradabad from 21-23 December, 1962. The drawn match saw the Madhya Pradesh team earning 6 points and Uttar Pradesh team earning 3 points from it. The teams of Vidarbha and Rajasthan then clashed with each other in the next match of the Central Zone that was held at Nagpur from 21-23 December, 1962. The Rajasthan team dominated its opponents throughout the match and clinched a huge victory of an innings and 72 runs to earn the entire 10 points from the match.

There was a clash between the teams of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan in the fifth of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1962-63. The match was held at Lucknow from 26-27 December, 1962 and the Rajasthan team won this match with a huge margin as well. Rajasthan won the match by an innings and 39 runs and it also earned the full 10 points from it. The teams of Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha clashed with each other in the last match of the Central Zone and the match was held at Lucknow from 30 December, 1962 - 01 January, 1963. The drawn match saw the Uttar Pradesh team earning 6 points and Vidarbha team earning 3 points from it.
