Then, the Kerala and Mysore teams clashed with each other in the next match of the zone at Ernakulam from 03-05 December, 1960, where the Mysore team won by 98 runs to earn 8 valuable points. The two powerful teams of the South Zone, Madras and Mysore met with each other at Madras from 10-12 December, 1960 and both the teams earned 2 points each, as the match was drawn.
The seventh of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1960-61 saw a clash between the teams of Mysore and Andhra at Bangalore from 17-19 December, 1960. The match was drawn during its specified duration and the match officials awarded the Mysore and Andhra teams 6 and 3 points, respectively for the match. The Andhra team played against the Kerala team at Guntur from 24-26 December, 1960, where the Kerala team got a big victory of an innings and 5 runs, to earn 9 points from the match. The next match of the zone involved the teams of Hyderabad and Kerala and the match was played at Hanamkonda from 30 December, 1960 - 01 January, 1961. The Hyderabad team clinched a victory of an innings and 2 runs in the match and earned the full 9 points from it. The last of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1960-61 saw a battle between the teams of Andhra and Madras and the match took place at Guntur from 31 December, 1960 - 02 January, 1961. The Madras team won the match with a huge margin of an innings and 87 runs and earned the full 9 points from it.
