The candidates need to send a nationalized bank demand draft of the requisite fee drawn in favour of NLSIU, payable at Bangalore. For the PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) and the LLD (Doctor of Laws) courses, the candidates are required to send some of the following things -

Eligibility Criteria for National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Entrance Test
The eligibility criteria for admissions differ as per the various course programmes. The requirements are as follows -
For BA, LLB Honours Five Year Integrated Course
For admissions into this degree candidate should have passed the 10+2 or Higher Secondary School Examination any equivalent examination from a recognized Board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Minimum age limit is 20 years.
For LLM Course
For getting admissions into this course, the interested candidate should have passed the LLB Degree or any equivalent degree from a recognised university securing a minimum of 50% scores in aggregate.
For M. Phil Course
For admissions into the MPhil degree course, a candidate should have the LLM degree from any recognised University or from the NLSIU, securing at least a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
For PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) Programme
Applicant interested in seeking admission into the PhD programme should have a Master of Laws degree certificate from any recognised University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or he/she should have an MPhil in Law under a recognised University.
For LLD (Doctor of Laws) Programme

For Distance Education Courses
The candidate should be a graduate from any recognized University in order to pursue the distance education courses. Final year students are also eligible to apply and there is no age requirement for admissions into the distance programmes.

Pattern of National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Entrance Test
The test pattern of B.A LLB admissions test consists of objective types of questions with multiple answers. It is of 2 hours duration carrying a total of 200 marks. There is no system of negative marking in this entrance test. The main papers of this test are - English, General Knowledge, Mathematics, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. The entrance test for LLM course includes four major sections, each carrying 50 marks. In the first section the command of the candidate over English Language is judged and the questions are of objective type. The second section comprises short note writing on several topics bearing upon law. In the third section, the candidates are required to write a short essay on topics based on Indian Constitutional Law. And in the last section that is the fourth section, the aspirants need to write a short essay on any topic in Jurisprudence.
