Nargol is a charming coastal village in Valsad District of Gujarat, situated near the Maharashtra border. Nargol Village and its beach are the interesting holiday destinations. One of the most exciting new archaeological discoveries of 21st century is the ancient city of Nargol. That ancient city was developed more than 9000 years ago, that has been found 30 to 40 meters under the Arabian Sea. This is one of the main findings of the marine archaeology in the Gulf of Khambhat. The archaeologists of Archaeological Survey of India made this discovery in the year 2000.

Nargol and its beach lie about 150 kms north from Mumbai and around 400 kms (249 mi) from Ahmedabad on the Arabian Sea coast. The nearest town of Nargol is Vapi which is located at about 25 kms. Nargol is surrounded by Arabian Sea to the West, Umbergaon to the south. To the East is the village of Sanjan which is known as the place of Parsis.
