Nangavaram is an example of a panchayat town. It has its location in the district of Kapur of Tamil Nadu state of India. Nangavaram stretches to a distance of 18 km northwest of Tiruchirapalli.

Male literacy rate constitutes 71 %, which proves that they are very much prone to education. Female literacy is as low as 50 %.

The ancient Sundareswarar temple and a Pidari temple are situated here enhance the tourist quotient of Nangavaram.

There is popular legend that centers on this Nangavaram. According to it , Nangavaram is the birth place of Chola king of Uraiyur`s daughter . She had a face of a jackal. However, with her arduous veneration to God she could get the face of a normal human being.
