Sometimes delicate items are created with the hand lathe and a particular process, which is called lac turney method, is followed by the artisans of this state. This process involves pressing the lac stick on the wood items where lac is to be attached or glued. The wooden item keeps revolving and the heat generated by friction makes the lac soft finally the lac adheres to the article. In making such items, vibrant and solid colour lacquering is preferred by the artisans. The traditional way of lacquering allows natural colours to make items but in recent times the artisans sometimes use chemical dyes for giving the items the glow and perfection.
