Kultar Gill, also known as Black Mamba Gill, is a famous figure in the field of Kickboxing.

Kultar Gill, Indian KickboxerKultar Gill, also known as Black Mamba Gill was born in Mission, British Columbia on 24th March 1979. He is a popular name in the field of Kickboxing who is also a professional Indian-Canadian welterweight Muay Thai Kickboxer and lightweight mixed martial artist, fighting for Team Mamba in Abbotsford in British Columbia. Apart from combative sport, he is also involved as a prison officer in Canada.

Mixed Martial Arts Career
Gill was scheduled to contend and fight in K-1 HERO`s 2007 Middleweight (70 kg) Grand Prix, where his fight was going to be rematch with Caol Uno in semi finals on September 17, 2007 with the winners moving out of the finals later that night of course. He, however, missed the tournament due to an injury in his shoulder. He has opened his new gym in British Columbia Canada, Abbotsford. Open now for a year, Team Mamba is actually rapidly becoming a formidable force on both the national and local levels, with fighters like Sabah Fadai, Gary Mangat, Kajan Johnson, and Kultar Gill.

Gill`s noteworthy opponents also includes Hideo Tokoro (twice) and Yves Edwards, the second match being one in which he showed tremendous improvement in his defence capabilities. This is praiseworthy given that his background is Muay Thai, a discipline in which he was ranked #6 in the world at one point. His background also includes wrestling.

Gill`s most recent kickboxing match was a loss to Buakaw Por. Pramuk at K-1 World MAX 2008 Final. After nearly four years in retirement, Gill announced that he will be returning to mixed martial arts at Super Fight League 3 against South African Quinton Arendse for the Super Fight League in Delhi, India. He was successful in his MMA return, winning via KO in the first round.
