KMCT Dental College, Kozhikode, KeralaThe KMCT Dental College came into existence in the year 2006 and gradually established itself as one of the most rapidly developing medical institutions in Kerala. Situated in the district of Kozhikode, the college is only the second self-financing Dental College, working under the University of Calicut. It is aimed at providing quality dental education to the students of Kerala. The college is well equipped with all the necessary modern facilities including a full-fledged dental clinic and excellent team of faculty.

The KMCT Dental College, Kozhikode has already become successful to attract a large number of students, who are aspiring to become skilled dental surgeons. The college is trying to make these students capable of applying their knowledge of dentistry in the best interest of the patient and community. It is also striving to ensure that its students maintain a high standard of professional ethics. Apart from the basic clinical training, the college also gives a definite thrust on the research and development of new aspects of dentistry.

The KMCT Dental College, Kozhikode mainly offers the undergraduate course of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) to the students of Kerala. This is a 5.5 years course, including one year of rotating internship. The college follows certain rules and regulations before admitting the students into its BDS Course. The students desirous of getting admitted in the course are required to have completed Plus Two course in Science subjects with 50% marks in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. However, for the students belonging to the SC/St categories, there is a relaxation of 10% in the minimum required percentage of marks.

The management of KMCT Dental College, Kozhikode admits students in BDS course strictly on the basis of the list published by the Government Entrance Commission for the Merit Quota. In the management quota seats, the students are admitted according to the existing rules of the college. The students are selected based on the entrance examination conducted by the commissioner for entrance examination. Apart from fulfilling the minimum educational qualification requirements, the students are also required to be aged at least 17 years in the year of admission. A resourceful team of experienced faculty members are guiding the students in their studies in KMCT Dental College, Kozhikode.

The KMCT Dental College, Kozhikode houses a dental clinic within its premises and the clinic is named as the KMCT Dental Clinic. Founded in January, 2005, the clinic is working relentlessly to provide quality dental treatment to the people of Kerala. Apart from the clinic, the dental college has several well equipped departments that are helping the management both in offering dental education and providing treatment. Some of the major departments of the college include the department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Dental Material Laboratory, Maxillofacial surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and Implantology, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Anatomy, Physiology, and the department of Biochemistry. Each of the departments is being headed by eminent professors and senior experienced staff members.
