Khumukcham Sanjita Chanu is an Indian weightlifter who won the gold medals at the at the 2014 Glasgow and the 2018 Gold Coast, Australia events in the women`s 48 kilograms and 53 kilograms weight category in that order. She holds the Commonwealth Games record of 84 kilograms for the Snatch segment in the concluding weight category. She was just a 20-year-old when she won the gold medal in the 48 kilograms category.

Khumukcham Sanjita Chanu was born on 2nd January 1994 Kakching Khunou, Kakching district, Manipur. She has been into the sport of weightlifting from 2006 in Manipur.
Career of Khumukcham Sanjita Chanu
After winning the gold medal 2018 Gold Coast events in the women`s 48 kilograms and 53 kilograms weight category, Sanjita became only the second Indian to achieve gold in the 53 kilograms category at the Commonwealth Games after Sanamacha Chanu. She also became the second Indian female weightlifter to secure gold across two different editions of the Commonwealth Games.
Before the 2014 Glasgow, she had already won two Commonwealth Championships. Unfortunately, poor form and wound left her incapable to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
