The panchayat town of Kalavai is located in the Vellore district of the state of Tamil Nadu of Indian continent .

Kalavai is a panchayat town, lying in the district of Vellore of the state of Tamil Nadu. Some people even prefer to identify Kalavai as Kalaval. It lies almost 45 Kms from Kanchipuram.

Strategically it rises approximately at 12.77° N 79.42° E. It rises to a height of 138 meters or 452 feet above the mean sea level.
