Jaya Jagadguru Murugharajendra Medical College, Davangere, KarnatakaThe Jaya Jagadguru Murugharajendra Medical College or the JJM Medical College was established in the year 1965 and it is working as a unit of the Bapuji Educational Association. The college is located in the district of Davangere, in Karnataka, India and it has already established itself as a premier medical institute in the state. The college is affiliated to the Mysore University, Mysore and to Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta, Shimoga District from the year 1987. The college got affiliation from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangaluru in 1996. The institution is working relentlessly towards developing socially responsible and competent health work force and it is also striving continuously to meet the health needs of the region. The college is carrying out need based health system research work with an eye to use such strategies to cover the overall community development, as well.

The JJM Medical College, Davangere has grown from strength to strength, since its inception. The academic fraternity, employees, students and community at large have been infused with progressive attitude, under its sphere of activities. The college offers several courses in different specialties of medical science at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The main undergraduate course offered by the college is MBBS degree. The postgraduate degree courses offered by the JJM Medical College, Davangere include MD in Anaesthesia, Dermatology, Forensic Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Paediatrics, Pathology, Psychiatry, Radio-diagnosis, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Microbiology, Pharmacology and Physiology. The college also offers other degree course like MS in Anatomy, E.N.T., Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and General Surgery.

Apart from the degree courses, the JJM Medical College, Davangere offers postgraduate diploma courses, as well. The diploma courses include D.A, D.V.D, D.L.O, D.F.M, D.G.O, D.O, D`Ortho, D.C.H, D.C.P, D.P.M and D.M.R.D. The institute admits a total of 225 students in various courses, every year. The major departments of the college include the department of Anatomy, Radio-Diagnosis, Physiology, Anaesthesia, Bio-Chemistry, Cardiology, Pharmacology, Plastic Surgery, Pathology, Neurosurgery, Microbiology, Urology, Forensic Medicine, Neonatology, Community Medicine, Radio-Therapy, General Medicine, Tuberculosis, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy, Psychiatry, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Orthopedics, and the department of Gynecology. There are also a few renowned hospitals associated with the JJM Medical College, Davangere. The hospitals include the Bapuji Hospital, the Bapuji Child Health Institute and Research Center, the Chigateri General Hospital (District Hospital) and the Women and Children Hospital. The total bed strength of these hospitals is more than 2210 beds.
