Janardan Gyanoba Navle is an Indian Cricketer of early colonial rule of British Government. He was born on 7th November 1902 in Fulgaon of Maharashtra. He is best known as a wicketkeeper and the right hand batsman. Janardan Gyanoba Navle played in colonial times with the domestic teams of Central India, Gwalior, Hindus, Holkar and Rajputana Teams.
Janardan Gyanoba Navle is known as the first test wicket keeper of Indian Cricket team in colonial era. He came into the limelight of Indian Colonial cricket team on the 1932 Tour of England. He had the fame in the cricket world for his "polished and quicksilver" work. Janardan Gyanoba Navle also doubled up as an opening batsman in the Indian Cricket Team. He also faced the historic first delivery of India`s first Test innings from Bill Bowes.
In India, the only test appearance of Janardan Gyanoba Navle was at Bombay (now called Mumbai) in the year 1933-34. He was dropped at the age of 31 to accommodate a younger man.
Janardan Gyanoba Navle made his first-class debut in the Bombay Quadrangular at the age of 16. Janardan Gyanoba Navle kept wickets for 16 straight years. His first class cricket career spanned from 1918 to 1944.
