Prolonged exposure to the rays of a hot, summer sun may cause a heat-stroke. The self-cooling mechanism of the body fails and eventually gives rise to very high fever. The other symptoms are hot and dry skin and rapid, bounding pulse. The victim becomes dizzy, nauseated, and weak. Generally the patient also suffers from headache. If not treated in time, vomiting, delirium, convulsions or unconsciousness may occur.
Treatment of Sunstroke
Glonoine 30 is the homoeopathic remedy of choice for sunstroke. A dose of the above medicine should be given in every fifteen minutes until the patient improves.
Belladona 30 may replace Glonoine. A dose of this medicine has to be given in every fifteen minutes, till improvement is seen.
Belladonna: Indicated for Sunstroke in which there is fearful headache. There is confusion of thought. Violent throbbing headache relived by nosebleed with more intense redness of face with throbbing carotids, delirium, spasms, jerks and twitching.
Aconite: Indicated for Sunstroke especially from sleeping in the Sun`s ray. Head exceedingly hot with burning, as though brain were moved by boiling water. High fever, Vertigo and tingling sensation. Aconite is one of the remedies of sudden, violently acute, painful condition.
Amyl Nitrate: Useful for Heat stroke. Heat and throbbing in head. Intense surging of blood to face and head as if blood would start through the skin. Patient can`t endure warmth, must throw off coverings and opens doors and windows.
