HKE Society`s College of Pharmacy, Gulbarga, KarnatakaThe HKE Society`s College of Pharmacy is considered as a premier medical institution in the state of Karnataka, India and the college is located in the district of Gulbarga. The college was established in 1973 with a view to provide quality education on Pharmacy to the students of the state. The college started as a school of Pharmacy, with a two year Diploma course in Pharmacy. The college is located within the premises of the M.R. Medical College and the schools of Pharmacy got upgraded to the college of Pharmacy in 1983. The college started offering a four year degree course in Pharmacy leading to B.Pharm from 1983 and also started a post-graduate course in pharmacy leading to M.Pharm in 1995.

Being affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangaluru, the HKE Society`s College of Pharmacy, Gulbarga is also approved by the AICTE and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi. The college follows the rules and regulations of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), for admission to its B.Pharm course and M.Pharm course. The college has already established itself as one of the best pharmacy institutions in India, in terms of laboratory facilities and faculty.

HKE Society`s College of Pharmacy, Gulbarga, Karnataka The HKE Society`s College of Pharmacy, Gulbarga started its journey with a number of aims and objectives. The college is aimed at contributing to the national programme of providing trained graduate pharmaceutical manpower through prescribed training programmes like M.Pharm, B.Pharm and D.Pharm. The college is doing so by providing adequate professional pharmaceutical education and effective competency. The college is willing to undertake the national task of meeting social and pharmaceutical needs in industrial pharmacy, medical programme and pharmaceutical education and research.

The HKE Society`s College of Pharmacy, Gulbarga offers 3 main course of study in the field of Pharmacy. The major courses that the college offers include Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm.), Bachelor in Pharmacy (B.Pharm.), Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm.) in Pharmaceutical Technology, Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm.) in Pharmaceutical Analysis, Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm.) in Pharmacology, and Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm.) in Pharmacognosy. The minimum educational qualification for getting admitted in the D.Pharm course is PUC 2nd year 10+2 or its equivalent with science recognized by the board. The candidate must have passed 10+2 exam with PCB / PCM for getting admission. The college provides the students with practical training after the completion of final D.Pharm. The passed out students also have to undergo compulsory training of 750 hours over a period of three months at approved hospitals.

According to the admission criterion for the B.Pharm degree course in the HKE Society`s College of Pharmacy, Gulbarga, the students are required to pass the two year PUC examination Karnataka P.U.C. Board or an equivalent examination of any other approved board or university. The students have to obtain a minimum 50% marks in any combination comprising physics, chemistry, Biology and / mathematics, or Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Minimum eligibility should based on the aggregate or P.C.M. or (PCB) or P.C.M.B. The college consider the aggregate of P.C.M. or PCB whichever is higher, for the candidates who have taken P.C.M.B. combination. The students, who belong to SC/ST, the minimum requirement in percentage of marks for the admission to B.Pharm course is 40% in combination. The students, who have obtained a minimum of 50% of aggregate marks in all subjects of final D.Pharm Examination, conducted by an authority approved by the Pharmacy council of India (PCI), are also considered eligible for admission.

All the laboratories of the HKE Society`s College of Pharmacy, Gulbarga are well equipped with pilot model industrial setup having individual tablet, capsules, liquid oral and semisolid manufacturing sections. They are also provided with sophisticated equipments like dissolution apparatus, tablet punching machine, capsule filling machine, tablet disintegration test apparatus, Monsanto`s hardness tester, ball mill, friability test apparatus, laminar air flow, UV spectrophotometer etc.
