Chandrakant Pandit, born on September 30, 1961, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, had served India well as a skilled striker and an able wicketkeeper in the mid-eighties. He was a right handed batsman and a wicketkeeper. He made his Test debut in the England vs. India Test match, held at Leeds from June 19-23, in 1986. Chandrakant Pandit scored only 23 runs in the first innings and 17 in the second innings.
