Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)India is home to a variety of healing services and medical practises. Earlier, MBBS was considered as the only means to cure diseases, disorders etc, but with the advent of parallel medical science like `Homeopathy` and `Ayurveda`, these courses gained a great impetus. The Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) is a five and a half year course, which includes internship. After which you can independently pursue your career as a doctor.

After the completion of the BHMS course, the candidate can pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery.

Future prospects:
After the completion of the BHMS course, an individual can pursue a career in the following fields:
* He can work as a private practitioner.
* He also has the opportunity to work as faculty in Medical Institutes.

Eligibility for the course:
The eligibility for the course is plus two or equivalent level examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. In some institutes however, there are entrance test which the candidate has to successfully quality in order to get himself enrolled. Admission to the BHMS is based on merit. In some states there is a joint entrance exam for BHMS along with the MBBS and BDS tests.
