In our country, armlets are worn in various forms. However, in south India, armlets were projected in a very unlikely way. Armlets or `Baju Bandhs` were used for various occasions such as weddings and events like traditional dances. Today, they are not manufactured in the orthodox sense of yesteryears, but have been decked up to modern conception with the changing trends. In northern parts of the country, armlets were worn as a representation of matrimony and were contrived in a very satiny manner.

In the present day, armlets are not used traditionally to that extent, but have become a popular fashion accessory. Armlets are largely used by women. In order to cater to the ever-changing demands armlets are available in different designs and styles. The ornament can be found in variants like oxidized metal, silver, gold, ceramic, ivory, etc. Though the armlet has lost its conventional fabricating style, yet it still looks quite ethnic when paired with traditional clothes on celebrations and other special occasions, lending a fresh look to the whole apparel.
