Anjana Thamke is an Indian athlete who has bagged many medals creating national records as a mid distance runner.

Her athletics ventures are supported by Anglian Medal Hunt Company. Since a very young age, Anjana Thamke established herself in the Indian sports arena, earning much appreciation for her performances. She hails from an underprivileged background. Anjana Thamke has won a number of medals at various championships at national and international levels.

Early Life of Anjana Thamke
Anjana Thamke was born on 16 November 1997 in a remote village called Ganeshgaon of Nashik district in Maharashtra. She belonged to an impoverished family. She used to jog daily for seven kilometres to reach school and that is when her training began. She gradually started to participate in the village school athletics competitions and began developing a passion for mid-distance running. Her performances impressed her teachers and she was encouraged by them to partake in the district events. In the year 2011 Anjana Thamke was noticed by Vijender Singh, a Sports Authority of India (SAI) accredited coach. Subsequently under his dedicated tutelage, she improved and paved her way to success in the Junior Indian Athletics Circuit.

Career of Anjana Thamke
Anjana Thamke at a young age garnered much popularity and created national record as a mid-distance runner in the 1500 m, 800 m and 400 m categories in under-17 section. In the National Junior Athletics Championship, 2012, she was declared as the Best Athlete, in the U-16 category. She bagged three gold medals at the 24th All India Track and Field Juniors Tournament organized at Balewadi in Pune in the 2012. In the U-17 section of the National School Games Anjana Thamke won gold in the 400 m and 1500 m run. In the year 2011 at the 56th National School Games she was the winner of gold in the U-19 section. Anjana Thamke also won a gold medal at the 2013 Asian Youth Games that took pace in Nanjing in the 800 metres event. At the Asian School Meet in Malyasia she bagged two gold medals in the 800 metres event and the 4X400 relay.
