Recently there are two types of tennis that are being played in India. One is senior tennis and another is junior level tennis. The senior tennis is classified into two segments - Men tennis and Women tennis.
Men's Tennis: There are three types of tournaments, which are played by Indian men. ATP tournament, ITA tournament and Davis Cup. Davis Cup is the premier international event of men tennis .The full form of ATP is Association Tennis Professionals. There are lots of Tennis tournaments under ATP including 4 Grand-slams. All the best players of the world are associated with that.
Women's Tennis: In women tennis there are also three events-Fed Cup, WTA tour and ITA Fed cup is the leading international tennis event among women.
World Tennis Association is the main conglomerate of women tennis. Famous female players are associated with that. Lots of events are played under the aegis of WTA.
To foster the tennis, the senior tennis players opened AISTA that is All India Senior Tennis Association in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.
