The very popular soap Piya Ka Ghar that used to be aired on Zee Television was the story of young girl called Rimjhim who is not only pretty and graceful but also soft-spoken and full of fun. It is the love story of a beautiful girl who was homeless but did have the 'piya ka ghar' for refuge. Her whole being revolves around Avinash, her childhood pal. But soon after the family of Avinash shifted to Mumbai and Rimjhim was left in the small laid-back town. But the memories of their friendship forever remained in the heart of Rimjhim and with the desire to get back Avinash, her only bond between life and love, she shifts to the tinsel town.
Years of separation lay between them and the thought of getting united again makes her feel on top of the world. But when she starts staying in the house of Avinash she feels like a complete stranger and to her surprise Avinash also does not recognize her. The story revolves around the conflict whether Rimjhim will give up and return to her native place or whether she will abandon her love. It is in fact a bond natured since childhood.
Piya Ka Ghar had a brilliant starcast including Narayani Shastri, Subha Arya, Prachi Shah, and Alok Nath. Narayani Shastri, who is also believed to be one of the hottest babes on the small screen plays the lead role of Rimjhim. Sheel Kumar produced the soap. It not only enjoyed a wide viewer base but also could make the audiences feel on the same plane with the characters. The soap dwells on the soft trodden territory of two families from a village and the problem arises when the next generation grows up. When the story takes a leap the producer of the show decided to cast the lead actress Narayani as a part of the new generation by the name of Megha.
This serial gained popularity not only in the Indian subcontinent but also in the foreign lands as far as U.S.A. and U.K. In fact there was a time when every ordinary girl could relate to the life of Rimjhim on screen. Such a show, which is very much close to real life, is desired by the small screen audiences' time over again. The viewers also hope that the show would be telecasted again or makes a comeback in the form of a sequel.
