Previously known as Swally, the Suvali Beach is an urban beach located along the Arabian Sea. It is one of the beaches of Gujarat, situated in the Hazira suburb of Surat. The black sandy Suvali Beach is known to be one of the cleanest beaches in India.
History of Suvali Beach
Suvali Beach is known as the birthplace of the modern Indian Navy and was gateway from where the British East India Company made inroads into India. In 1612, Captain Thomas Best encountered and defeated the Portuguese at the Battle of Swally here.

The Surat airport and railway station are the nearest to the Suvali Beach at a distance of 22 km and 30 km respectively.
