![]() Dose of Katuki in Medicine The katuki has been found in Chennai. It is a useful medicine and proposed for use in fever and dyspepsia. About 2 drachms of the powdered root given with sugar and warm water, is said to act as a mild purgative. In bilious fever the following decoction is highly recommended. Take katuki root, liquorice, raisins and neem bark half a tola each, water 32 tolas; boil till reduced to one-fourth. The following is an example of a powder containing katuki root, used in dyspepsia. Take katuki, Acorus Calamus (Vacha), chebulic myrobalan and plumbago root equal parts; powder and mix.
