Sugandha Bala, scientifically known as Pavonia Odorata, has natural healing values. The roots and shoots of this plant are extremely aromatic. Ayurveda, the oldest of all healing sciences has recorded the use of Sugandha Bala herb and its essential oil as a natural cooling agent with stomachic properties. The fragrant roots of this plant are considered aromatic, cooling and stomachic and are much used in combination with other medicines of the sort in fever, inflammation, haemorrhages from internal organs etc. Sugandha Bala enters into the composition of a well-known fever drink called ‘Shadanga Paniya’.
