Health Benefits of Kanak Champa
In Ayurveda, Indian system of medicine, is used in treating headache, ulcers, wounds, cough, cold, bleeding disorders etc. The flower of this tree, rubbed into a paste with Kanjika is an ancient and well known application for hemicrania. It is mentioned by many writers and is used even at the present day, as a domestic remedy. The leaves are used as plates and both bark and leaves were once used as a remedy for small-pox and still find use in fold medicine to treat wounds and itching. The flowers are believed to cure ulcers, tumours, leprosy and diseases of the blood, and to be an insect repellent.
