Vasavi College of Engineering, HyderabadVasavi College of Engineering is a self-financed technical institution. It is located in Ibrahimbagh, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The institution is affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad. It was ranked No. 2 in the state by the state Government in 2012. In the same year, it was also ranked 34th among all the private engineering colleges in India. The college has a library which is home to over 10000 volumes.

History of Vasavi College of Engineering
The college was established in 1981 by the Vasavi Academy of Education. It was founded by Sri Pendekanti Venkatasubbaiah, a statesman of independent India. The college is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation.

Courses Offered by Vasavi College of Engineering
The college offers both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. It offers a four-year undergraduate program for the six engineering disciplines of Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering. To get admission to the undergraduate program, the students are required to appear for the Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test, referred to as EAMCET. The candidates are also required to pass the examination of the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Telangana with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects, or any other examination recognized by the Osmania University as equivalent.

The master"s degree course is offered in Computer Applications (MCA). Alongside this program, it offers a two-year graduate program that offers a Masters in Engineering (M. E.) in four disciplines namely Embedded Systems and VLSI Design; Advanced Design and Manufacturing; Communication Engineering & Signal Processing; and Power Systems & Power Electronics. Candidates get admission to the three-year Master`s degree in Computer Applications based on their performance in the Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET). And admission to the ME programs is through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).

Value Added Courses Offered by Vasavi College of Engineering
The college has started some value added courses to strengthen the teaching-learning ambience. It has introduced several value-added courses in various disciplines like Cisco Certifications, CAD / CAM, GIS, VLSI, Embedded Systems and DSP. The college also offers a Java EE program as a value-added course.
