Early Life of Dutee Chand
Dutee Chand was born on 3rd February 1996 in Gopalpur region of Ganjam district in the state of Odisha to Chakradhar Chand and Akhuji Chand. Her parents were poor weavers and she is one of their four daughters. Dutee Chand entered into the field of athletics after being inspired from her elder sister Saraswati Chand, who also belongs to the same profession. In the year 2013, she joined the KIIT University for pursuing law.

Career of Dutee Chand
In the year 2012 Dutee Chand earned the fame of being the national champion in the under-18 category in the 100 meters event with a timing of 11.8 seconds. At the Asian Championships in Pune she won the bronze in the 200 metres event marking a timing of 23.811 seconds. In the same year she reached the final in the 2013 World Youth Championships and became the first Indian to reach the final of a global athletics 100 meters final. In the year 2013 she also owned the fame of being the national champion in 100 metres and 200 metres by winning the events at the National Senior Athletics Championships in Ranchi. She clocked a timing of 11.73 seconds in the final of 100 metres events while in 200 metres she marked her career best timing of 23.73 seconds.
