Career of Arantxa Sanchis
Arantxa Sanchis bagged the gold medal at the inaugural IBSF, World 6-Red Snooker and Team Snooker Championship in Carlow, Ireland in the women`s team event. With her victory, Arantxa Sanchis marked a historic first Gold Medal for Indian Women`s Snooker at a World Championship. Before this, Arantxa Sanchis has been the winner of two Maharashtra State and nine national titles.

In the year 2008, Arantxa Sanchis made history and a record by being the victor of four titles at a single national. Before her splendid performance, no Indian male or female cueist achieved this and she became the first to accomplish it. In the year 2012, she bagged the National Six Red Snooker title in Mumbai along with the National Senior Women`s Billiards title. In one of these processes she successfully defeated some of the prominent Billiard players such as Chitra Magimairaj, Meenal Thakur and Anuja Thakur. She was a representative of the country at the World U 21 Snooker Championship 2007, organized in Goa, at the young age of 17 and became a Semi- Finalist. Arantxa Sanchis has also been a representative of India at the IBSF World Snooker Championship 2012 held at Sofia, Bulgaria, and the WPBSA World Billiards Championship 2012 organized at Leeds, UK. She received her coaching from Satish Amarnath and at varied tournaments representing the club PYC Hindu Gymkhana. She in fact played her first tournament at this club.

Personal Life of Arantxa Sanchis
Arantxa Sanchis was born to the retired Indian Army Colonel EJ Sanchis and his wife Carolina Lucia Sanchis. She has completed her graduation from Mumbai University with a degree of BE (IT) and later did her MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Kirkee. She also has a sibling, Amanda Lee-Ann Sanchis, who is older to her. Arantxa Sanchis has also been excellent in academics. She is a distinction holder in Engineering and also topped in her MBA. She won the Best Student awards in both of her academic institutes in Engineering as well as Management.
