Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most prominent wildlife sanctuaries in Jammu and Kashmir. The name Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary is derived from the local village called Nandini.
Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary played a vital role in preserving the wide array of flora and fauna. The cynosure of this sanctuary is natural beauty and animals. Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary is preserving 8 species of mammals and a wide array of birds.
Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary is best known for its diversity and it's an abode of pheasants. Other birds of Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary are Indian mynah, blue rock pigeon, peafowl, red jungle fowl, chir pheasants and chakor.
Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of 34 squar kilometres and the sanctuary is rich in fauna. Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary provides refuge to a wide variety of mammals also. The main species are leopard, wild boar, rhesus monkey, bharal and grey langur.
