Kalidas festival is organized at Ramtek town in Nagpur district of Maharashtra in the honour of Kalidasa, the great poet of the country. The festival is held in the month of November every year for two days and celebrates the cultural tradition of India through exquisite performances of dance, drama and music. The event features an excellent cultural extravaganza and creates an enchanting aura that attempts to transport people back to the ancient past along with the memories of the golden period of Vidarbha region. Ramtek town is known to be associated with Lord Rama.
