2011 Padma Bhushan Awardees2011 Padma Bhushan awardees were presented the Padma Bhushan award by the Government of India to numerous distinguished personalities who earned recognition in various spheres which include arts (theatre, cinema, painting and dance), social work, science and engineering, medicine, literature and education.

Shashi Kapoor
Born as Balbir Raj Prithviraj Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor was a reputed actor and film producer of the Hindi film industry or Bollywood He has been immensely popular for his contribution to Bollywood and was awarded the Padma Bhushan in the year 2011 as recognition for his talents.

Arpita Singh
Arpita Singh is a notable Indian painter, who rose to prominence since the 1970`s. Her paintings consist of Bengali folk paintings, abstract paintings which are in monochrome and so on. 2011 Padma Bhushan Awardees Her art masterpieces on Bengali folk paintings involve several works which portray regular lives of Indian women as well as nude paintings of women which display Indian women`s vulnerability. She is the recipient of numerable awards and have been awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2011.

C.V.Chandrasekhar
C.V. Chandrasekhar is amongst some of the most talented Bharatnatyam dancers the country has produced. He, along with his wife Jaya Chandrasekhar are known to be the best dancing couples who performed Bharatnatyam in India. During the year 1993, the Sangeet Natak Akademi had bestowed the Kalidas Samman in the year 2008. Padma Bhushan was awarded to him by the Government of India in 2011.

Thayil Jacob Sony George
Popularly known as TJS George, Thayil Jacob So ny George is a writer who was born in Kerala and presently resides in Bangalore. He is also a reputed political columnist and author.
