Krishna Das is a famous name in the Indian archery circuit. She has, right through her playing days, and representing India at the highest levels, own lot of laurels for her country. She was born on 23rd May in the year 1959 in the city of Kolkata in the Indian state of West Bengal. Presently she is retired and even acted as a coach for some of the local level aspiring archers.

At various National events Krishna Das represented her country. She, coming from very poor family has struggled her way into the top. Every opportunity that she got, she has successfully turned that useful and into something productive.

From a very young age, she has the knack in archery. And right from young age she wanted to represent India at highest stage. She, due to lack of proper facility and help, had to strive hard to get to the top of her performance.

When she represented India at the Asian Games in the year 1978 in Bangkok and in 1982 in Delhi and in three other Asian Archery Meets, she made her country proud with her tremendous performances. She may not have won the gold, but she did win millions of hearts, and lot of appreciation among from the people. This is an aspect that has been appreciated and recognized by Government of India as well and as a result, it had awarded Krishna Das with the Arjuna Award for being the outstanding sportsperson. With this award, she of course became the first Indian archer to get Arjuna Award from the Government of India.
