![]() Early Life of Vikas Krishan Yadav Yadav was born in Singhwa Khas village at Hisar district. Krishan Kumar Yadav, his father, is an employee in the Maharishi Dayanand University. The entire family shifted to Bhiwani, as Yadav's father was transferred to the city. It was here that Vikas Krishan Yadav joined the Bhiwani Boxing Club in 2003. He later also received valuable training in the Army Sports Institute at Pune. Presently, Yadav is a member of staff of the Haryana State Electricity Board. Career of Vikas Krishan Yadav Vikas Krishan Yadav won his first international medal which was a gold medal at the tournament in the 2010 Asian Youth Boxing Championships, held in Tehran, Iran during the month of March 2010. In 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, he won a bronze medal in Lightweight category. He won a gold medal at Baku in the Lightweight category in 2010 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships. On 25th November 2010 in Guangzhou, China, he won the gold medal defeating Hu Qing of China in 2010 Asian Games. In 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships, Yadav won the bronze medal in the Welterweight category. In 2012 Olympics, he was eliminated from a match against Errol Spence of the United States who appealed to the Amateur International Boxing Association claiming the referee had failed to observe the fouls of Yadav. In 2014 Asian Games, he won the Bronze Medal in the Middleweight category. In 2015 Asian Boxing Championships, he won the silver medal. He also qualified for the Rio Olympic Games by finishing with a bronze medal at the Olympic qualifiers held in Baku in June 2016. He won the gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
