Sant Ravidas Nagar District was created on 30th of June 1994 as 65th district of Uttar Pradesh. Gyanpur is the administrative headquarters. Sant Ravidas Nagar District is located at 25 degree 12 minutes north to 25 degree 32 minutes north latitude and from 82 degree 12 minutes east to 82 degree 42 minutes east longitude. Sant Ravidas Nagar District is situated in the planes of Ganga River, with its borders touching districts like Allahabad, Varanasi, Mirjapur and Jaunpur District, simultaneously.
