It is organized by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB). The candidates who are interested in taking admissions in engineering, medical, agriculture and pharmacy programmes need to appear for this entrance test. These career-oriented professional degree courses are offered by several colleges or institutes of the state of Bihar. Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has been formed by the Government of Bihar as per the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act 1995. Presently, the Board organizes a number of entrance tests and one of them is the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) for admission in various vocational courses in diversified fields. Any candidate after clearing BCECE can get admission into engineering, pharmacy, agriculture and medical undergraduate programs. The students are awarded a bachelor degree after the successful completion of one such degree programme. Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) is usually conducted in May/ June.

The candidates can obtain the application form and the syllabus of Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) from the prescribed colleges or institutes within the state of Bihar, which are mentioned below -

The candidates can also get the application forms and the syllabus of this entrance test from certain selected bank branches. The candidates need to pay the requisite amount for obtaining the forms. In case they are obtaining the application forms from banks, they need to pay some extra amount as bank charges. Moreover, the forms for appearing Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) can also be obtained through post by making a bank demand draft of the requisite amount, drawn in favour of "Controller of Examination, BCECE Board", payable at Patna. Along with the demand draft, they need to send a self addressed envelope. The completed application forms must be submitted before the last date of submission only by speed post or registered post. If the application forms are sent through any other mode will not be acknowledged.

Eligibility Criteria for Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE)
The minimum eligibility criterion is a pass in 10+2 examination or in Intermediate Examination with Maths, Physics and Chemistry as core subjects under the state Board or any recognized Board. There is no age limit for appearing in the engineering and pharmacy stream. The minimum age criterion for agriculture and pharmacy streams is 17 years of age. Pattern of Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE)
Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) is conducted in two stages. The test paper of this entrance test consists of three papers in subjects like Chemistry, Physics and Maths for Engineering and Biology, Chemistry and Physics for Medical stream, each of 1 hour duration. The standard of exam is that of the pattern of 10+2 level. The medium of this entrance test is English language.

The candidates interested in appearing for Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) need to prepare for core subjects like Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry along with Biology (as additional subject) under the PCM group. And under the PCB group, they need to prepare for core subjects like Chemistry, Physics and Biology along with Mathematics (as additional subject). They need to follow the syllabus of the 10+2 level.
