Application Forms The prospectus including the application form can be obtained by the mode of Speed Post/Registered Post and by sending a written request application along with an account payee bank draft payable to the Director, AIIMS, New Delhi. Candidates must remember that Money order/Cheque/Postal order/cash or any other mode of payment will not be accepted for postal sale. Moreover, candidates need to mention the words 'Request for Application form for MBBS Entrance Examination' on the envelope comprising the request for application form, and it should also be mentioned on top of the request letter. The interested candidates can also obtain the application form and the prospectus from any authorized branch of SBI. Application forms obtained from any unauthorized source will be discarded. They need to send the completed application forms before the last date of submission. It is advisable not to wait for the last date. Eligibility Criteria for AIIMS Entrance Exam Students who have cleared the senior secondary examination under the 10+2 system or any equivalent examination from any recognized Board or University with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as core subjects are eligible to apply. A minimum of 60% marks (50% marks in case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates) in overall aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English is a must. The age of the candidate should be17 years at the time of admissions. Courses Offered Undergraduate Courses: Postgraduate Courses: Pattern of Examination All India Institute of Medical Sciences Entrance Exam is of 3 and half hours duration and is a single-stage examination. This entrance test comprises 200 objective or multiple choice and reason-assertion types of questions. There are 60 questions each from core subjects like Chemistry, Physics and Biology. And there are 20 questions from General Knowledge section. There is the system of negative marking for incorrect answers. Selection Process Admission to the various medical degree programmes are entirely based on the aggregate of marks obtained in the written aptitude test and interview. Students need to score an overall satisfying percentage of marks in all the sections of the written test as the number of seats is limited and the competition level is really high. Syllabus The question paper of AIIMS entrance exam includes four separate parts and each of the section has an extensive coverage of topics. Zoology: Histology, Anatomy and Physiology, Reproductive System, Developmental Biology, Diversity of Animal Life, Genetics and Evolution (Fundamentals only). Botany: Anatomy and Physiology of Plants, Meristems -Plant growth and development, Internal and external regulators of growth and development in plants, Internal structure of stem and secondary growth, Xylem and Phloem-their cell elements and functions, Internal structure of dicot and monocot leaves, photosynthesis, history, important factors and mechanism, stomatal mechanism, transpiration and respiration, Internal structure of dicot and monocot roots, Absorption and cell water relations, transport of water and minerals, tropic movements, Botany and Human Welfare. Limited seats are available every year for admission to the MBBS course offered by All India Institute of Medical Science.
