Lac crafts of Punjab have a traditional background and the created items are decorated superbly with coloured lac. The craftsmen create designed furniture and the legs for beds with splendid and pronounced designs that are the characteristic of Punjab. The lac craft is known as 'abri' craft by the local people of Punjab. Divans in 'nakashi' style are well appraised for its purple coloured lac, is the specialty of this place.

The process of lacquering is done by following some techniques and steps. The items are first coated with a yellow colour. This surface is then lacquered with red lac stick. An irregular colour pattern is achieved through this technique. A black border is then drawn around the article and the gaps are then filled with white colour to give the item a cloud effect.
