The match between the teams of Gujarat and Bombay was the first of the West Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1991-92 and the two teams played the match at Surat from 06-09 December, 1991. The drawn match saw the Bombay and Gujarat teams earning 20 and 7 points, respectively from it. The second match of the zone was played between the teams of Saurashtra and Baroda and the match was held at Rajkot from 06-09 December, 1991. The next match of the zone involved the teams like Baroda and Bombay and the match took place at Baroda from 20-23 December, 1991. The drawn match saw the Baroda team earning 16 points and Bombay earning 11 points from it.
The teams of Maharashtra and Baroda played against each other in the seventh of the West Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1991-92 and the match was played at Kolhapur form 27-30 December, 1991. The match saw the Maharashtra team winning by 6 wickets for earning 17 points and the Baroda team also earned 7 points from the match. The next match of the zone saw the Saurashtra and Gujarat teams playing against each other at Rajkot from 27-30 December, 1991. The match remained drawn during the specified period of time and the match officials awarded the Saurashtra and Gujarat teams 17 and 13 points, respectively for the match. The Bombay team then played against the Maharashtra team in the next match of the West Zone and the two teams played the match at Bombay from 02-05 January, 1992. The winner of the match was the Bombay team with a very good margin of an innings and 85 runs and the team earned 22 points from the match.
